An Ethica Diamonds Love Story | Newquay, Cornwall
Some love stories start with a grand gesture or a carefully planned introduction. Chris and Emma's started with a group run, a mutual friend, and the kind of immediate connection that does not need explaining to anyone who has experienced it.
They met on the 13th December 2021. By February 2022 - just three months later - Chris was proposing. And they have been running together ever since.
How It All Began
Emma and Chris crossed paths through a mutual friend and a shared love of running. They hit it off immediately, a friendship forming quickly into something neither of them had quite planned for. Emma says she knew from the start that Chris was someone special.
Three months later, Chris knew she was the one.

The Proposal
Chris had planned to propose on Valentine's Day 2022. He had the ring. He had the date in mind. What he had not anticipated was how impossible it would be to wait once the ring was in his possession.
He proposed at home on the 11th February - three days ahead of schedule - because he simply could not contain himself any longer. We think that is one of the most endearing proposal stories we have ever heard. Sometimes the most perfectly planned moments are the ones that cannot quite hold their shape.

We asked Emma what her reaction was.
"After being speechless for five minutes or so it was a big yes from me. I have never had anything so beautiful on my hand. I am mesmerised by it every day and get so many compliments on it too. I could not have wished for anything better and Chris picked perfectly.
Chris researched rings online and came across Ethica Diamonds. Your customer service, help and care was top notch from the start so it was a no brainer to purchase my ring and our wedding bands with engraving from yourselves. Purchasing all three rings was nothing but superb. I love the little touches like the bag of rose petals and how beautifully the rings are boxed."

The Rings
Chris chose the Eleanor Ring for the proposal - a timeless round brilliant solitaire in a four claw setting with daylight shoulders that allow maximum light through the stone. Set in platinum with a 1.50ct Ethica Diamond, it is exactly the kind of ring that photographs beautifully and looks even more extraordinary in real life.
For her wedding band, Emma chose a classic 2mm court band in platinum, engraved with hers and Chris's initials and their wedding date. It sits perfectly alongside the Eleanor, making for a bridal set that is elegant, classic, and completely personal.
Chris chose a flat edge band in 4mm platinum with matching engraving. The pair of them wearing matching engraved bands, each carrying the same date, is a detail we love enormously.
The Wedding
Chris and Emma married on the 8th April 2023, surrounded by their closest family and friends in the beautiful market town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. The reception continued in their hometown of Newmarket, where more family and friends joined them for a proper celebration.
The day had a rustic theme with pops of yellow and dusky blue in the flowers and decorations - details that sound so perfectly considered together.
Emma's favourite moment of the whole day was her son Jake walking her down the aisle and seeing Chris waiting for her at the altar. Which, if you are not a little moved by that, you might want to check your pulse.
Emma also wanted to share a few special thanks:
Mark Lesley Bride for the beautiful wedding dress, and Brides by Solo Bride Boutique for supplying it and ensuring the perfect fit.

Congratulations Chris and Emma. Thank you for trusting us with three of the most important pieces of jewellery you will ever wear. We hope you are still running together - and that the rings look as beautiful on your hands today as they did on the day you said yes.
