Some love stories begin with a grand gesture or a perfectly orchestrated meeting. Sabah and Maisie's began with a friend asking Sabah to set her up with someone - and Sabah thinking, why not me?
How It Started
Sabah is a doctor. Maisie is a nurse. They met at work - which Sabah freely admits is a slightly cliche origin story, and which we think is completely endearing.
Maisie was unsure at first. Sabah was, by her own account, quite confident and had questionable blonde hair. Her friend asked her to set her up with someone. She had a better idea entirely.
She said hello. They have never been apart since.
The Proposal
Sabah planned the whole thing carefully. A trip to Bamburgh - one of the most extraordinary stretches of coastline in the country, all pale sand and castle and open sky. A boat ride out to see seals and puffins. The ring in his pocket. The moment waiting to happen.
There was just one small problem.
Her face.
I thought it was all a surprise but Maisie knew all along because my face can never hide secrets!
The boat ride was very choppy. The seals and puffins were wonderful. And when they reached Bamburgh beach, Sabah proposed anyway - surprise element significantly diminished, ring still perfect, answer still yes.
We think a proposal where the person already knows because your face gave it away is actually one of the most romantic kinds. It means she saw it coming and still said yes immediately. That says everything.
The Rings
Sabah and Maisie came to Ethica Diamonds for their rings and we are so glad they did. The experience, in Sabah's words, was exactly what it should be.
We genuinely had such a great experience with you guys and got the rings we wanted and love.
They are now engaged and wearing rings they love every single day. Which is, honestly, everything we ever want to hear.
